Resources & Classes

In preparation for the birth of your child, we offer access to a variety of resources and classes to make your transition to motherhood easier. Here you’ll find information on hospital tours, childbirth education classes, nutritionist and psychologist services, as well as a list of frequently asked questions about pregnancy and a list of over-the-counter medications that you’ll want to pay attention to during your pregnancy.

Hospital Tours

Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center offers maternity tours twice a month, one time in English and one time in Spanish.

Spanish Tour - 2nd Saturday of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

English Tour - 3rd Saturday of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

If you would like to join a tour, please RSVP online or call the hospital at (323) 913-4909. Participants will meet in the hospital lobby 5-10 minutes before each tour starts.

The Women's Center at Glendale Memorial Hospital, located on the fifth floor of the hospital, provides luxury, private birthing suites for labor and delivery and postpartum. Also, the hospital's Level II NICU provides care for infants with special needs. Women's Outpatient Services, located in the basement level of the hospital, is open to some patients for prenatal care. Tours are available by calling (818) 502-2382.

Childhood Preparation Classes

To help patients prepare for labor and delivery as well as life after the birth of a baby, Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center offers a full complement of educational programs including childbirth education, parenting classes, sibling classes and lactation counseling for breastfeeding moms. Glendale Memorial Hospital offers childbirth education classes and is home to the Breastfeeding Resource Center, which offers new and expecting moms various breastfeeding services such as lactation visits after delivery, lactation consultations and phone support. It also offers a weekly breastfeeding support group, "The Nursing Mother's Circle," which meets every Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. For more information on classes at Glendale Memorial Medical Center, call (818) 502-2382.

Nutritionist and Psychologist

We encourage good nutrition and exercise and guide you through the whole process from preconception to postpartum care, including circumcision services. We can refer you to a nutritionist or psychologist, as needed, for additional care to ensure that both you and your baby achieve the healthiest outcomes.
